BetMGM Becomes the Official Betting Partner of the NFL

This season, the NFL will be adding betting content to its broadcasts. The league has signed a multiyear deal with DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars Entertainment. The partnership will allow these companies exclusive access to the league’s content. It also paves the way for betting content to appear during NFL Network broadcasts this fall.

While there are currently seven states that have legalized sports betting, more are expected to join in the coming years. There are already nearly eight billion bets placed on sports across the U.S., and nearly seventy percent of states plan to offer legal sports betting by 2024. The league and sportsbook operator have partnered to create a solution that will allow betting on all aspects of the game.

The NFL’s ideal sports gambling legislation would include substantive licensing requirements for sports betting operators, clear markets, and protections for consumers. The league would also prevent insider betting, and put the onus on operators to prevent it. But before the league could go forward with the plan, it needed the support of the owners of the NFL’s 32 teams. The owners fall into four main groups, and the NFL had to convince them to back the plan.

In November 2021, BetMGM became the official betting partner of the New York Knicks, the New York Rangers, and Madison Square Garden. The company also has partnerships with other popular sports leagues and teams. Betway announced partnerships with six NBA/NHL franchises in March 2021. It also has daily fantasy sports partners including FanDuel and DraftKings.
